WHAT WE DID THIS LESSON:
- Learned how to tune a guitar with an electronic tuner
- Learned the parts of the guitar
- Learned the names of the strings
- Worked on G major, C major and D major chords
- Worked on a basic strum pattern
- Began practicing “Sweet Home Alabama”
THIS WEEK:
1) Memorize the parts of the guitar and the names of the strings
- Parts of the guitar: body/box, neck, head, tuners/machine heads, nut, fingerboard/fretboard, fretwire, fret, bridge, bridge pins, saddle, pickguard, sound hole, bracing, strap buttons, binding

2) Tune your guitar every time you play with an electronic tuner
- See the video above for a reminder of how to do it
- Go by the Army-Navy Surplus Store on the square in Moultrie and buy an electronic tuner. They cost about $15.
OTHER:
- Paid $65 for today’s lesson and April tuition
- Welcome to Beginner Guitar! You did GREAT today… you will pick this up very quickly and have lots of fun playing. I’m glad to have you in the class!
